Google made a splash with its latest announcements during the Made by Google event at its Bay View headquarters. Among the highlights was the unveiling of the Pixel Watch 3, a smartwatch packed with advanced features geared towards fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious individuals.

The Pixel Watch 3 comes equipped with machine learning-enabled fitness capabilities and health-metrics tracking, setting it apart from its predecessors. It offers a range of health monitoring features, including tracking sleep, stress levels, oxygen levels, skin temperature, and heart rhythm. These interconnected health metrics provide users with a comprehensive profile focused on improving their overall well-being.

One of the key focuses of the Pixel Watch 3 is on runners, offering them tools to curate their workouts, track their progress, and receive guidance during their runs. Users can plan their routines, customize their workouts by setting targets and intervals, and receive real-time feedback through audio and haptic cues. The watch also integrates with gym equipment like Peloton and NordicTrack, enhancing the overall workout experience.

With upgraded sensing technology, the Pixel Watch 3 boasts the most accurate heart-rate sensing technology on the market for runners. Using machine learning, the watch can track a user’s heart rate, analyze running form and dynamics, and provide valuable insights into performance metrics post-workout. Additionally, the watch assesses workout intensity and the need for recovery by analyzing heart rate variability, resting heart rate, and sleep data.

The Pixel Watch 3 introduces new features like Cardio Mode and Target Mode, offering personalized insights and guidance for users actively training and seeking to improve their fitness levels. The addition of Fitbit Morning Brief provides users with a readiness score at the start of the day, incorporating sleep data, exercise goals, and daily weather information.

In terms of design and functionality, the Pixel Watch 3 comes in two sizes (41 mm and 45 mm) with a brighter display and improved battery life. The larger 45 mm version boasts a 35% bigger battery, allowing for longer usage, and features a faster-charging capability. The watch is priced competitively, with the 41 mm version starting at $349 for the WiFi model and $449 for the LTE version, while the 45 mm version starts at $399 for WiFi and $449 for LTE.

In addition to the Pixel Watch 3, Google also announced updates to its Pixel phones, introducing new camera features and AI capabilities. The company unveiled the Pixel 9 series, including the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL, with innovative camera systems and AI-powered tools like Add Me and Pixel Studio. The Pixel 9 series starts at $799, $999, and $1,099 respectively, with a premium foldable option, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, priced at $1,799.

Google’s commitment to innovation extends to its accessories, with the introduction of the Pixel Buds Pro 2, the first earbuds integrated with Gemini AI technology. Priced at $229, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 offer users a seamless experience with Gemini integration, expanding the reach of AI beyond the phone.

Overall, Google’s Made by Google event showcased the company’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology and enhancing the user experience across its product lineup. With a focus on health, fitness, AI integration, and cutting-edge design, Google continues to set the standard for innovation in the tech industry.
