Toyota USA Foundation has recently announced a groundbreaking initiative to support Fulton County Schools (FCS) students in Georgia. The Hands-On STEM Program, known as Driving Possibilities, aims to prepare students for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through a phased rollout of programming in select schools. With grants of up to $8.6 million over five years, Toyota is committed to increasing awareness of STEM careers and building sustainable programs in the community.
The Driving Possibilities initiative focuses on PreK-12 education and seeks to close educational gaps for students by providing innovative, hands-on STEM programming. By collaborating with FCS educators, the program aims to equip students with essential knowledge and skillsets in STEM fields. The initiative will also address the needs of students and families by expanding community resources and services through existing Student and Family Engagement (SAFE) Centers in two FCS high schools.
In addition to enhancing existing resources, Driving Possibilities will integrate STEM learning with the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) curriculum to provide students with additional learning opportunities. Professional development in STEM-specific areas will also be provided for FCS educators, with support from Kennesaw State University. This comprehensive approach to STEM education will ensure that students are well-prepared for the careers of tomorrow.
The Toyota USA Foundation’s commitment to supporting education programs for PreK-12 students underscores its dedication to promoting STEM education in the United States. By emphasizing science, technology, engineering, and math, the foundation aims to empower students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving workforce. Through initiatives like Driving Possibilities, Toyota is investing in the future of young people and communities across the country.
Fulton County Schools is the seventh site to launch Driving Possibilities programming, following the success of similar initiatives in other communities. By leveraging the expertise and resources of Toyota, FCS students will have access to cutting-edge STEM education that will prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of the future. The collaboration between Toyota and FCS exemplifies a shared commitment to advancing education and empowering students to reach their full potential.
As Toyota continues to expand its impact through initiatives like Driving Possibilities, the company reaffirms its commitment to creating innovative educational programs in underserved communities. By investing in STEM education and supporting educators, Toyota is paving the way for a brighter future for students in Fulton County Schools and beyond. Through partnerships with local and national nonprofits, Toyota is driving positive change and creating limitless possibilities for students across the country.
