InterGlobe Enterprises, the parent company of IndiGo airline, has recently expanded its portfolio to include boutique lifestyle hotels under the brand name Miiro. With properties in Paris and Barcelona already open, the company has ambitious plans to further establish its presence in Europe with upcoming launches in London and Vienna.

Neena Gupta, the CEO of Miiro, shared that the brand is focused on providing entry-level luxury accommodations for self-assured travelers who seek a blend of homely comfort and modern amenities. The name “Miiro” is derived from the Latin word for “I wonder,” symbolizing reflection and a sense of exploration that the hotels aim to offer their guests.

Each Miiro property is unique, reflecting the distinct characteristics of its location, inspired by the surrounding neighborhood, community, and local architectural style. Gupta emphasized that the brand’s goal is to create immersive experiences that allow travelers to connect with the heart of each city, rather than just providing a place to stay.

The Miiro hotels in Paris and Barcelona exemplify this vision. Le Grand Hotel Cayre, located in the Saint-Germain-des-Pres quarter of Paris, has been fully renovated to offer 123 rooms that pay homage to the historic Hotel Cayre, once a hub for Parisian artists, writers, and intellectuals. In Barcelona, Borneta is situated in the vibrant El Born neighborhood, known for its artistic community and rich history. The hotel features 92 individually designed rooms and suites that draw inspiration from the warm tones of the neighborhood and the city’s colorful palette.

InterGlobe’s hospitality division, in partnership with French group Accor, has already established a significant presence in India with over 7,000 rooms across 30 hotels. The expansion into Europe with Miiro represents a strategic move to acquire high-yield assets in iconic locations and transform them into lifestyle properties that cater to the discerning traveler.

Looking ahead, Miiro has plans for further expansion in 2025 and beyond, with upcoming properties in London and Vienna set to offer unique experiences for guests.
