Share

Garmin has recently unveiled its latest smartwatches, the Garmin Fenix 8 and the Garmin Enduro 3, both of which are expected to be top contenders in the wearable tech market. The Garmin Fenix 8 comes in three different sizes – 43mm, 47mm, and 51mm – with two screen options: a bright AMOLED screen and a more power-efficient memory-in-pixel (MIP) screen. The AMOLED screen models can last up to 29 days in smartwatch mode, while the MIP screen models can last up to 48 days, even with the always-on screen enabled.

One of the standout features of the Garmin Fenix 8 is its diving modes, allowing the watch to function as a working dive computer and descend down to 40 meters of depth for scuba activities. The leak-proof buttons ensure that the watch remains operational even at such depths. Additionally, models with optional titanium bezel and sapphire glass upgrades will be available for purchase, adding to the durability and premium feel of the watch.

Hardware features such as an LED flashlight, a new speaker, and a microphone for quick calls and voice commands are also present in the Garmin Fenix 8. The watch promises upgraded strength training modes and new map functionalities like dynamic round trip routing, which suggests options to guide users back to their starting point during activities. The Garmin Fenix 8 is currently available for pre-order, starting at $999.99 in the US and £869.99 in the UK.

On the other hand, the Garmin Enduro 3 is designed as a super-premium endurance race tool, boasting a lighter weight of 63g compared to its predecessor. The watch shares many features with the Fenix 8, including dynamic round trip routing, LED flashlight, and preloaded TopoActive maps. The Enduro 3 comes in a single size of 51mm, with a titanium bezel and scratch-resistant sapphire lens. Its MIP screen features solar charging technology, offering impressive battery life of up to 320 hours in GPS mode and 90 days in smartwatch mode.

The Enduro 3 also introduces Garmin Messenger, Garmin Pay, and the ability to download songs from streaming services for phone-free listening. However, it lacks the microphone and speaker found in the Fenix 8 line. The Garmin Enduro 3 is available for pre-order at $899.99 in the US and £769.99 in the UK.

Overall, both the Garmin Fenix 8 and the Garmin Enduro 3 are shaping up to be standout offerings in the smartwatch market, with advanced features, durable construction, and impressive battery life. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast, outdoor adventurer, or tech-savvy individual, these watches are sure to meet your needs and exceed your expectations.
