Club Car, a global industry-leading manufacturer of small-wheel, zero-emissions electric vehicles, has recently extended its long-term relationship with one of the world’s most iconic golf venues, St Andrews Links. This prestigious Scottish venue, steeped in over 600 years of golfing history, has received a new fleet of 32 golf and utility vehicles from Club Car to complement its existing fleet of 52 vehicles used to operate its seven public courses, including the famous Old Course, a 30-time host venue of The Open.

John Grant, Director of Golf at St Andrews Links Trust, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating that Club Car has consistently provided high-quality vehicles and service support since becoming an official supplier in 2016. The vehicles play a crucial role in the operation of the courses, allowing teams to work efficiently and providing golfers with an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Club Car’s innovative capabilities offer a range of benefits to the St Andrews Links team. The award-winning golf vehicles transport golfers safely and comfortably around the links, while the versatile utility vehicles are utilized by the course ranger team and media staff, who often transport VIPs and equipment around the site. Additionally, a combination of 6- and 8-seater transporter models are essential for transporting golfers between the Links Clubhouse and the first tee of the Old Course.

The vehicles are equipped with Club Car’s Connected technology, which allows the teams to monitor the fleet’s condition, maintain course boundaries, and communicate directly with the vehicles. Furthermore, the Visage GPS system enhances the golfer experience by providing exact yardages and action zones to safely navigate the unique features of the links courses.

Andy Bourke, Club Car Regional Manager for the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia, highlighted the strong relationship developed with St Andrews Links over the past eight years. He emphasized the pride in providing first-class service to the largest public golf complex in Europe, enabling the team to deliver a unique and memorable experience to thousands of golfers annually.

Established in 1974, St Andrews Links Trust manages and maintains the Links courses at St Andrews, including the Old Course, New Course, Jubilee Course, Eden Course, Strathtyrum Course, Balgove Course, and The Castle Course. With over 250,000 rounds played annually, the partnership with Club Car ensures the smooth operation and exceptional experience for golfers at this historic venue.
