The Hull Youth Baseball teams have been making waves in their respective leagues, with both the 12U and 16U teams showcasing their talent and determination on the field.

In a recent game on Tuesday, July 30, the 12U Baseball team secured a convincing 8-0 victory over Halifax. Chase Silva was a standout player, delivering an impressive performance on the mound with 11 strikeouts in six innings. Silva allowed only five hits and zero runs, showcasing his dominance on the field. The Pirates got off to a strong start in the game, with Chase Silva hitting a homerun in the bottom of the first inning, followed by Gavin Griffin’s single, each scoring two runs. The team continued to build on their lead in the third inning, with Billy Littlefield, Nicholas Mihal, Gavin Griffin, and Henry Littlefield all contributing runs. The Pirates finished the game with 10 hits, displaying their offensive prowess.

Following their victory over Halifax, the 12U team continued their winning streak with a 6-1 triumph over Hanover on Thursday, August 1. Nicholas Mihal kicked off the scoring in the first inning, driving in a run. The Pirates extended their lead in the third inning, with Billy Littlefield and Chase Silva each scoring a run. Jacob Goodrich and Alex Provost provided solid relief pitching for the team, allowing just one hit and one run while striking out five. Gavin Griffin led the team with two hits, while Chase Silva, Billy Littlefield, and Griffin each drove in a run. The Pirates finished the season with an impressive 9-0-1 record, securing first place in the standings. Playoffs are set to begin on Tuesday, August 6 at 6 p.m. at L Street.

Meanwhile, the 16U Baseball team earned a first-round bye and secured home-field advantage for the playoffs by defeating Pembroke 12-1. Landon Lepenven, Max MacEachern, and Jack Gagne played key roles in the team’s victory, with Lepenven hitting a home run and MacEachern going 3-for-3 at the plate. The Pirates accumulated 10 hits in the game, with Mahoney leading the team in runs batted in. The pitching staff also delivered a strong performance, with Matthew Kraus, Tristan Lofgren, Will Kenerson, and Jack Gagne combining for a shutout game. The team finished the season with a 9-1 record, setting the stage for playoffs starting on Thursday, August 8 at 6 p.m. at L St. field.

In addition to the baseball success, Hull Youth Soccer is gearing up for the upcoming fall/spring season. In-town registration is now open for grades pre-K through second grade, with the program running for six weeks in both the fall and spring on Saturdays at the Dust Bowl.
