The Citizens for a Better Cassadaga are thrilled to present the next installment of their summer concert series, featuring the talented Uncle Ben’s Remedy. Taking place on Sunday, August 18, this event promises an evening of exceptional music on the picturesque Floating Stage at Cassadaga Lake. From 5-7 p.m., attendees can enjoy the unique sound of Uncle Ben’s Remedy, known for their distinctive blend of “outlaw country” music.

Originating from the small towns of Western New York, Uncle Ben’s Remedy embodies the essence of community and traditional country music. The band members – Ben Westlund, Harmony Griffin, Shawn Huestis, Brendan O’Connor, and Jimmy Royce – bring a genuine and heartfelt performance to the stage. With a mix of traditional and rock ‘n’ roll instruments, along with soulful vocals, Uncle Ben’s Remedy creates an authentic and engaging musical experience for their audience.

Prior to Uncle Ben’s Remedy taking the Floating Stage, Stockton resident “Still Bill” Moran will be performing at the nearby beach gazebo from 4-5 p.m. Drawing inspiration from the folk and protest music of the 1960s, Bill delivers a message of peace, unity, and positivity through his music. His performance aims to evoke nostalgia and encourage listeners to come together through song and shared experiences.

The concert will be held at Cassadaga Beach, a charming lakeside park on Park Avenue in Cassadaga. The venue offers various amenities such as a playground, beach volleyball, picnic tables, and grills. Lifeguards will be on duty to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Whether you choose to bring a chair or arrive by boat, there are plenty of options for seating and relaxation.

In addition to the musical performances, attendees can explore Cassadaga Beach and its surrounding attractions. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Duper’s, and Cassadaga-themed merchandise will be on sale. Local artists and authors are also invited to showcase their creations at the event. Rumor has it that Waddles the Duck, a beloved local mascot, will be making a special appearance to entertain guests.

Funding for this event is made possible through Arts Services Inc.’s Creative Impact Fund, supported by a New York State Senate Initiative and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts. The community support and collaboration have enabled the Citizens for a Better Cassadaga to bring quality entertainment to the area.

As parking at the beach may be limited, attendees are encouraged to utilize nearby parking options at the church, library, or fire hall. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be relocated to either the Cassadaga Fire Hall at 22 Mill St or the American Legion Post 1280 on 228 Maple Ave. For more information and updates, interested individuals can contact 716-665-8855.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to enjoy live music in a beautiful lakeside setting. Join the Citizens for a Better Cassadaga for an unforgettable evening with Uncle Ben’s Remedy and “Still Bill” Moran, and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and community spirit of Cassadaga.
